A Grade Certificates!!

We were overwhelmed that our names were announced by Mrs Golder.
We worked really hard to achieve at least five or more A grades in our homework. We shook our teachers hand proudly and the audience applauded us. We were pleased that we were awarded with A grade certificates. Our parents are very glad that we worked hard in Term One.

Our next goal is to get A grades for the rest of the year and to succeed so that we can have a better education. Every week we get Year 8 homework and usually we get A or better. Only six students were awarded with A Grade Certificates who were

Landing On The Shores Of Gallipoli.

27th March 1915

Dear Family

Though there are so many men fighting each of them fall one by one. It was the day when every soldier had to fight to save their country. Some soldiers were even worried that they might not return back to their loved ones or even children. We walked through Flanders Fields and there were men fighting. One of our men had one of their legs blown off and we carried him to safety. We started digging our trenches in the dirt.

Next we set up our trenches so we had somewhere to slumber. It was night and I couldn’t get enough sleep because all the bombs were so loud. Then I thought to myself that once I get out of this mine field I would be free at last. But just as I was interrupted a bomb shell rolled into our trench. I started to shout, ”Evacuate”.

Everyone woke up and ran for their lives.

One of our soldiers was injured and it was 3:30 in the morning. We went out onto the field and and we started to shoot. We came back into our trenches and our breakfast was ready. As soon as we were finished it was our turn to go on the field and finish the job.

I am on my way back home. I can’t wait to see all of you.

Yours,
Sini

Who Am I?

Who am I?

Bonjour my name is Sini. I was born in Auckland Hospital. I am a year eight prefect at Ruapotaka School. I have long, black hair. I am also short in height with dark brown eyes and light, brown skin.

I come from a village in Samoa. I love the people of my village because they are all kind. Apparently I am part German because my Great-grandfather was German. I speak two languages, Samoan and English.

I have two brothers and one sister. I also have one stepbrother and one stepsister  from my dad’s family. My family is very special to me because they always look after me and they always take care of the problems I go through.

My favourite hobbies are going shopping with my family. I love going to church and  I am leaning how to do art. I enjoy playing soccer and touch at school with my friends or sometimes with my cousins. I am into a lot of singing.
When I grow up I would like to be a lawyer or a chef.

What The?

Summary:
Rusty Croft,a professional sand artist might have beaten a new record of the World’s Largest Sandcastle. This sandcastle is 39 feet tall. This masterpiece was created only with sand and water. The Guinness World Record’s team had to travel to Brazil just to measure if it was actually the tallest sandcastle.

Opinion:
I think that this is so cool and I could only wish if I could see that in real life. Unfortunately it has been busted.

Is This Weird Or What??

Summary:
McDonald’s attempt to make Bubble-gum flavoured broccoli did not go as planned. This experiment has confused kids who tried it. Unfortunately there new experiment was just to prove that they serve healthy food, but the bubble-gum flavoured broccoli was not sold.

Opinion:

I think this experiment is one of the weirdest things I have ever heard of. If I was one of the customers I wouldn’t buy it, would you?

This Is Amazing!!

(Summary)
On the 13th of November for the first time in London for the 10th annual Guinness World Records Day. This is a day that celebrates the achievements from all over the world. This day also brought Sultan Kosen,31 years and Chandra Bahadur Dangi,74 years together. Sultan was the tallest living man in 2009 and Chandra became the world’s shortest man in 2012, measuring 21.5 inches.(54cm.)

(Opinion)
I think that this is cool how the World’s tallest man and the World’s shortest man met on a very special occasion. I only wish that I could meet them one day.
