Southside Rugby Support!!

Family gathering together, staring beyond the screen, eagerly waiting, 5,4,3,2,1 KICK OFF! The room was filled with a sound that nearly shook the house.

Sunday afternoon 10th October 2015. Uncles, aunties, cousins, relatives arriving altogether. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining, brightly from the sky. The birds were chirping on the roof top.

One of my cousin had turned 22 and goes to Epsom University in Epsom. She has pitch black hair which shines, brightly in the sun, her eyes are dark brown and has fair skin. She is  loving, caring and everything you can think of. Her name is Asotasi which in English is translated as Day One.

Meeting together in Mangere to give a lot of support to the Samoan team on their last game in the Rugby World Cup. Rumours filled the room, “The coach finally picked the best players for the last game of the tournament.”

We set out the table in the back house for the family. The good smell filled the room with a nice scent that made the kids start gobbling on the food. We tried to stop them but they still gobble on it. We then  moved onto setting the sitting room, the chairs and mat for the kids to sit on. Families came in one by one and each holding a tray of treats either for the children or elders.

Two hours passed and the game was underway with Scotland starting off with the ball. Thirty minutes passed in the game and Scotland and Samoa were going at their best. Half time and the adults were shouting their lungs out. The adults then needed water because their throats were dry. The game ended with us jumping up and down. Match ends wit thirty-three to Samoa and thirty-six to Scotland. “Woo-hoo, good game!” announced the adults.

My eyes were sore that when I tried to look at something bright it twitched. Why was I the only one with red eyes that nearly looked like the colour of the planet Mars? Was it because I rubbed it too much, or was it because I was too close to the television? I will never know!

My family are huge supporters of rugby.
